Anthony Roldan, aged 18, faces two felony counts of first-degree murder after being charged on Thursday. He was arrested Wednesday in the 1100 block of West Washburne Avenue. He had been charged with fatally shooting a man and woman in Humboldt Park last May, according to a FOX32 report. In his mugshot, that was released by the Chicago Police Department, Roldan can be seen weeping. Authorities said Roldan shot and killed 18-year-old Adrian Navarro and 23-year-old Destiny Nunez at around 10:30 p....

Winston Fish, a 79-year-old from the Australian island state, was herding sheep on his farm in Oatlands, a village just north of Tasmania’s capital Hobart, on Tuesday when he encountered the snake that bit him “at least five times on his leg and on his hand,” his brother Brian Fish told Australia’s ABC News. The Tasmanian farmer was discovered by a friend who his brother Brian had sent to look for him after realizing his brother hadn’t come home yet....

Ahmad Gardner, 35, was driving east on Rivers Avenue, near Mall Drive in Charleston, on Tuesday morning when the incident occurred. An eyewitness told police that Gardner was trying to make a U-turn to travel west on Rivers Avenue but did not complete the maneuver, according to Fox Carolina. The vehicle ploughed through a parking lot at Rivers Avenue and Dalton Street, and struck an unoccupied car, the network reported....

The suspect, identified as Fred Seavey by the Montpelier Police Department, died in a car accident July 1 after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a highway median, according to an accident report by WCAX. Police had identified Seavey, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, as a transient with no listed home address, WCAX reported. Using DNA from the crash scene, police were able to positively match those samples to ones collected from spray paint cans found near the mural....

Aftab Amin Poonawalla was arrested on suspicion of murder some six months after the disappearance of Shraddha Vikas Walkar, according to news reports citing police sources. A police-focused news website, PoliceMediaNews, tweeted a picture of the victim on Monday and said police alleged that Poonawalla was responsible for her violent death. She was strangled and dismembered in Delhi nearly six months ago. The website claimed the couple had discussed marriage and that Walkar moved from her home in Mumbai to live with Poonawalla, but they argued about their wedding and Poonawalla allegedly killed and then butchered his partner....

The man, believed to be in his forties, was reportedly seen unmoving and floating face down in the deep end of the pool at Fresno’s Island Water Park at about 12:45 p.m. Concerned visitors alerted the park’s lifeguards, who then called the authorities just before 1 p.m. to report a possible drowning, according to The Fresno Bee. Lifeguards were able to pull the man from the water to begin CPR until emergency services arrived, the publication reported....
