Joshua Spriestersbach’s attorneys filed the lawsuit at the U.S. District Court in Honolulu Sunday. According to an Associated Press report, the lawsuit said that Hawaii officials haven’t responded to a petition filed in August to correct the error that got him institutionalized. Spriestersbach’s identity mix-up began in 2017 when he was waiting in a long line for food at a Honolulu homeless shelter and fell asleep on the sidewalk....

Video has surfaced in which it appears that an apparent animal lover used a spare straw to help get a snake’s breathing to normalize after it was found inside a home in India. According to a report from News 18 India, a man known only as Snehashish was called in after the enormous snake slithered its way into a local household in the Malkangiri district of the Indian state Odisha....

The 45-year-old father of three was convicted for burglary and theft in November 2008, and was given a seven year sentence. A month later, he was sentenced to five years in prison on separate burglary and theft charges. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) said Bokio Johnson, 46, fatally shot and killed one person and left a second injured in a shooting at Chef Menteur Highway and Providence Place on March 23. According to Fox 8, Johnson killed Hollis Carter, 21, who was out on bond despite having been charged over the killing of Johnson’s son Caleb, 18, and his sister Breyiana Brown, 25, in March 2021....

Donta Roberts, 20, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide following the shooting in a parking area near N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Wright Street in Milwaukee on Wednesday, November 24. Officers were dispatched to the parking area at around 5:30 p.m. where they found a 29-year-old man with a single gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital but later died as a result of his injuries....

The Allegheny County Police Department released details of the incident on its Twitter page on Friday. The suspect was placed under arrest for aggravated assault Saturday morning, according to the Lawrence Police Department.
